To maintain her own identity probably was and still is the unbending aim of the Parisian Artist, Yaelle Cinkey. She is a young and ambitious Frenchwoman, whose family was very early abandoned by her father.

She “learned to be strong, to never let get her down”. A lot of water ran down the river Seine until her Debut album “Gonna Make A Change” was published at the beginning of 2016. When she was two years old, she copied the dancing style of Michael Jackson in front of the mirror and taught herself the art of playing guitar and piano. At the young age of twelve Yaelle Cinkey composed her first Song, “Pas L’impression”, which is “denouncing societies’ behavior with a healthy dose of sarcasm” and can also be found on this album.

During her time at “Star Academy” 2007, the sixteen-year-old artist reached publicity singing next to Céline Dion and Avril Lavigne. She didn’t accept the high endowed record contracts because the expectations of the managers and the labels did not match with Yaelle Cinkeys desire for individuality. The contracts were torn apart on the spot. She started to work for a US fast food chain and with some little gigs and festivals she remained loyal to the music. 2012 Yaelle Cinkeys EP “Don’t Give A Damn” was released.
At the Musik Messe Frankfurt 2013 Yaelle met Martin Engelien, which was the starting point of several concerts in Germany. At one of them RockTimes was able to get its own impression of the young Frenchwoman.

Without having a bad conscience one can state, that Yaelle Cinkey is a multi-instrumentalist, as there is a lot to mention between A to (almost) Z. Beginning with the acoustic guitar one ends up with the Saxophone.
Gonna Make A Change” opens up musical horizons, characterized by strong emotions, high intensity and an individual identity that can even be felt in your own home. This album is the melodious business card of Yaelle Cinkey, on which could be written in capital letters “THAT’S WHO I AM, THAT’S HOW I FEEL”.

With her instrumental solo “It’s Time” she convinces everyone of her talent for the acoustic six strings. Almost three minutes of devotion to fingerpicking between Tommy Emmanuel and Joe Bonamassa.
It is very courageous to dare to even touch “Je Ne Regrette Rien” by Edith Piaf. With the most sensitive finesse, Yaelle Cinkey individualized her arrangement without scratching the original. Both versions marked by their individuality are unique. You have got to hear it!
The musicians list is pretty long, as they were thoroughly selected for each song. Dennis Hormes, Joerg Dudys or Bachisio Uhlgeri can be broadly defined as being responsible for the rock. It goes without saying that Yaelle could be mentioned for almost every instrument.

Gonna Make A Change” builds up a marvelous landscape which is wrapped into the sound of her voice. On one hand the title song “Gonna Make A Change” has almost an avant-garde-rocky force to it, that one might have heard most recently from the also very headstrong Dalbello. On the other hand is “Say You Love Me” like balm for your soul. In this song, live and studio records were very skillfully intertwined. The intro piano and the acoustic guitar by Yaelle Cinkey were recorded live in her home town. “Pas L’Impression” is a track with a jazzy ambience accompanied by rousing brass sounds. “Daddy Je T’Aime” is a thoughtful-extroverted processing act.

The thirteen songs on “Gonna Make A Change” present almost fifty minutes of precious music. Yaelle Cinkey embodies the wildness of an untamed horse and the softness of a purring cat in her personality.
